Bring mind, body and spirit into balance with a Wellness Escape at the Kingfisher.

The Starfish Yoga Studio is nestled near the beach in front of our Spa building and has a view of the ocean, marine life, and nearby Sandy (Tree) Island, all with the Coast mountain range as an awe-inspiring backdrop.

The Starfish Studio's décor is naturally elegant with sand tones, a soft cork floor, an in-laid starfish made with cherry wood, and a beach rock fireplace for those cool fall and winter mornings. With such close proximity to the ocean, the Starfish Studio features windows and 3 skylights to bring in warming natural light and the wondrous view.

What to Wear
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows freedom of movement. Make sure that your top is not too baggy, as this can get in the way of proper vision and breathing in some poses. Also, clothing that is too baggy makes it difficult for our instructors to see your alignment and muscle use. If you are unsure about what to wear please call ahead or view the suggestions in our Boutique located in the main Spa building.

Studio Etiquette
We ask that you check in for your fitness class at the main Spa building; we will refer you to the change facilities and the Starfish Studio from there. As a courtesy to other students we ask that you avoid perfumes or strong scents when using the facilities. We also suggest that you refrain from wearing long or dangling jewelry. If you have long hair, please bring a ponytail holder to class.

Equipment
The Starfish Studio is equipped with all of the items you will need during your class. You are of course welcome to bring your own mat, props, or bolsters. We also offer a variety of supplies and equipment in our Boutique in the main Spa Building.

Special Population
It is important to inform the Instructor of any injuries or conditions that you are working with. Our Instructors are happy and able to accommodate your needs. Things such as ongoing injury, recent injury, pregnancy, or no previous fitness experience may be discussed with our Instructors at any time. We are happy to have an Instructor contact you to help you choose the class that best suits your needs.
